A Group of hard working United Way volunteers from Grand Geneva spent their ” United Way Day of Caring” on October 3rd at VIP Serives washing buses and cleaning wheelchairs for a whole variety of clients.

Michael Nichols of VIP struggled to find the right job until he was hired by Casey’s General Store. Today, he is the longest-tenured of VIP’s clients hired by Casey’s, and he has maintained his job with them since their Burlington location opened. Michael’s mother reports that his self-confidence and decision-making skills have greatly improved during his time with Casey’s.There was a time when some felt Michael couldn’t be successful working in the community, but with the right accommodations and workplace supports, Michael has proven he can successfully achieve his workplace responsibilities. Casey’s General Store has been a dedicated partner of VIP since June of 2017. Today, Casey’s General Stores in and around Walworth County have hired more than nine disabled individuals.Throughout our relationship, Casey’s has shown a willingness to accept individuals who may require accommodations and long-term supports to be successful on the job and achieve greater independence.
