VIP Clients Attend 2015 Self-Determination Conference

“Keep Moving Forward: Freedom, Choice, Change” was the theme of the 2015 Conference put on annually by the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities.  Four VIP Services clients were selected to receive support to attend the Conference from the Daniel F. Ward Scholarship Fund of the Walworth County Tavern League.  Kim Luedtke, Cathy Caccamo, Sean Gribben and Connie York, along with Matt Church represented VIP at Wisconsin BPDD’s 2015 Self-Determination Conference in November.

The Self-Determination Conference brought together hundreds of attendees from throughout the state of Wisconsin.  The conference is uniquely designed to bring the experiences of self-advocates together in a practical “how-to” guide provided with the assistance of professionals, family members and support staff.  In addition, it offered creative tools to help individuals with disabilities get the support they need to live the lives they want.

We’ve followed Kim, Cathy, Sean, Connie and Matt through their conference experience.  Watch our Facebook page and the next edition of VIP Voice for more about their journey.
