“CPR-Caring, Protection and Respect” Book to benefit VIP Services, Inc.
Local author and philanthropist, Trudy Schubert just self-published her 10th book “CPR-Caring, Protection and Respect” with all proceeds to benefit VIP Services. The book shares a simple message about diversity, giving reasons that color and religion do not matter. Trudy’s mantra, “All that matters is what you do and say!” The book is now available for purchase at $5 per copy at VIP Services at our front desk or by contacting Julie Cotter at juliec@vipservices-inc.org or 262-723-4043 ext. 105. Copies are also available The Rauland Agency in Walworth.
Schubert, a retired children’s librarian, brings her love of storytelling and writing together as a way to contribute and raise awareness to causes she supports. She shares, “Children born with disabilities come with many blessings for the lives they affect. I hope each of the books I have written will help children to realize something they might not have understood before.”
The cover features a firetruck which serves a dual purpose; a central character, Ted is a fire fighter and Trudy has dedicated the book to Police, Fire and Ambulance and Service men and women. Schubert writes, “When I read or hear about the unrest in our world we know our Police, Fire, Ambulance and Service men and women are protecting us every minute of our day risking their lives for us. You all are a very important part of our lives Thank You for being there for us and protecting us. We pray for your safety.”
Schubert published her first book, “Sweet Treats,” in 2005 to help benefit Lakeland School. She donated the proceeds from subsequent books to organizations which include the Red Cross, Lakeland Animal Shelter, The Dance Factory, Aurora Lakeland Cancer Center, the Alliance for Children and Inspiration Ministries.
Thank you to Trudy, we are grateful for her wonderful generosity!
