Connecting our Community - One Ride at a Time

New name, new look, same great service. Walworth County Connect - formerly known as Wal-to-Wal Dial-a-Ride - provides affordable transportation services to all residents of Walworth County, within the county, and a little bit beyond. Whether you need to get to work, school, the grocery store, the doctor, or you want to get out to enjoy all the county has to offer, our Share and Care rides can get you there. Just schedule your rides in advance, and we will pick you up and get you back home.

Safety All drivers are drug-tested, licensed, caregiver-background checked, and CPR Certified. All vehicles are camera equipped.

 

Accessibility All vehicles are ramp or lift equipped. Reasonable modifications to service will be made to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

​

Walworth County Connect partners with VIP Services, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Elkhorn,

to provide transportation services for both programs.

​

Please note that there is no service on the following holidays:

New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

Walworth County Connect Share​​​​​​​

Walworth County Connect Share (Formerly Wal-to-Wal Dial-a-Ride) is a Shared-Ride Taxi Program.

​

  • ​Schedule your Share Ride at least 24 hours in advance from the requested pickup time; based on availability.

  • This shared ride service is available to the general public for any trip purpose within Walworth County, offering curb-to-curb service or door-to door upon request. Share Ride offers convenient, reliable rides and is perfect for getting to work, school, regular medical appointments, shopping, dining, or entertainment and more.

  • The entire county is fully served by Share Ride except rides starting and ending in the City of Whitewater, which are not included due to federal funding rules.​​

Fares-

Walworth County Connect Share
$3.00      Seniors (age 60 and older), children under age 19, and                     people with disabilities

$5.00      Adult (age 18 years and older) traveling within one                       community's corporate limits.

$6.00      All other adult trips

$11.00    Agency prepaid trips regardless of category

Walworth County Connect Care

​​​​​Walworth County Connect Care is a

Specialized Transit Program.

​

  • Schedule your Care Ride at least 48 hours in advance from   the requested pickup time; based on availability.

  • This program provides rides outside the county for non-emergency medical appointments for Walworth County residents who are age 60 and older, people with disabilities, and qualifying Veterans. The Care Ride service provides door-to-door service primarily within a 70-mile radius of Elkhorn, WI.​​

$18.00     Medical trips to: Beloit, Burlington, Fort Atkinson,                        Harvard, Janesville, Mukwonago

$30.00      Medical trips to: Johnson Creek, Kenosha, Madison,                    Milwaukee, Monroe, Racine, Rockford, Waukesha

Funding & Partnerships 

Walworth County Connect transportation services are provided in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

​

Under federal and state guidelines, Wisconsin counties operating shared ride taxi services are required to charge a fee for each ride. This charge is heavily subsidized by federal and state grants as well as local property tax dollars to make basic transportation services available and affordable for Walworth County residents.

​

The Share Ride program is funded in part by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) as authorized under 49 U.S.C. 5311 Formula Grants for Rural Areas (CFDA20.509).

​

The County currently contracts with VIP Services, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Elkhorn, to provide transportation services for both programs.
